Importing Eudora Mail (Sorry, another thread)

Post by bardos on Sat Dec 16, 2017 5:07 am

I have about 1gb of folders and mail to import from Eudora. Saved the mail import for last, the other imports went off quickly without a hitch. The Importing Witch is on step 4/5 and says "Finalizing"   71075/127256.  Been stuck like that for a long time now. What should I do? Is it really hung? Or just taking its time?  thx

Apparently there are some issues with source messages. Most likely their MIME-structure is invalid, or more severe, raw data is corrupted.
Try this:
1. Terminate Importer.exe via Windows Task Manager.
2. Start Pandora, and if it appears, hit View/Tasks and terminate existing Import-tasks (Right-click/Stop). Close Pandora.
(If Pandora remains invisible, terminate the task via Windows Task Manager.)
3. Start Windows Explorer, browse to Import folder (located inside the root of main data folder).
4. Move all files from Import folder to a zip archive or another folder.

If those remaining/problematic messages do not contain any confidential data, send them over inside the zip attachment.
We'll investigate it, and include the fix for the next release.
That's the best way to fix the issue for good, and immediately.
Alternatively, import messages in smaller chunks.

Yeah, that's what I'm about at the moment... importing in smaller chunks... Smile

Yep, definitely the weak point, the importing.
